OMG THIS IS AMAZING! So happy for my friend Deepo!
Running Late no. 1 - @ Astor Place
I’m so glad I can finally talk about this:
I was asked by Fully Branded Media to be part of the movie “Kill Your Darlings” starring Daniel Radcliffe, Michael C. Hall, Elizabeth Olsen and Dane DeHaan by drawing up some pictures of the cast. Got to meet Daniel Radcliffe, Dane DeHaan and Michael C. Hall last week - and super grateful for the opportunity. Feel free to check them out at their website, blog and twitter and check out the drawings of the cast HERE: http://fullybrandedmedia.blogspot.com/2012/04/kill-your-cartoons.htmlRANDEEP! That is so cool!
YAY! Thank you!! It’s definitely one of the cooler things to ever happen to me haha!
Yeah, I haven’t been doing any art lately. Here’s my attempt to remedy that. Self-portrait, first layer, 3.5 hours.
I used a limited palette of grey, light red and yellow ochre. It’s amazing how much colour you can get starting with only three hues. I’m pretty pleased with the colour scheme.
The paint got a bit too muddy to finish the hair and shirt, so that’ll be the focus of the next session. The likeness is okay, but something’s off. Not quite sure what. In any case, it feels good to be painting again!
This is a drawing I did last night at The Prince’s Drawing School in Shoreditch. On the first Thursday of every month, they offer a FREE three-hour drop-in life drawing opportunity for anyone interested. The studio is massive and they have a great selection of papers and charcoal for artists’ use. The session runs from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and they’ve got large drawing easels and chairs, all surrounding a well-lit nude model. There is an instructor who goes around and helps artists to work out any issues in their work. The instructor last night was mighty cute (and he said nice things about my drawing!) and gave really thoughtful critiques and insight. I am definitely going to this every month!
First of my Friends in London portrait series! This is Cameron, first and second stages of the painting.
More life sketches. Charcoal and white and coloured chalk on blue paper. 20 minute poses.
